In freight, packaging isn’t just a box - it’s the first line of defence for your shipment. Done right, it keeps your cargo safe, your customers happy, and your business protected.

At ProX, we’ve seen it all. Here’s our no-fluff guide to getting packaging right every time.

Why Good Packaging Matters

  • Prevents damage and costly replacements
  • Preserves your reputation with customers
  • Reduces waste, costs, and environmental impact

ProX Packaging Tips

1. Use the Right Materials

Choose industrial-grade cardboard for fragile or heavy items. Cheap boxes fail under pressure.

2. Match the Box to theProduct

Avoid oversized boxes that let cargo shift around. A snug fit = less padding, less movement, and less damage.

3. Pad Smart, Not Heavy

Use lightweight, protective fillers like bubble wrap, air pillows, or shredded paper. Bonus: pick sustainable materials where possible.

4. Label Fragile Items Clearly

Mark all sides with FRAGILE. Especially if items will be split into multiple cartons during transit.

5. Don’t Overfill

Stuffed boxes can burst or collapse. If you’re forcing it shut, it’s too full.

6. Don’t Overpack

Too many loose items in one big box? That’s a recipe for damage. Break it down into smaller, more manageable packages.

7. Seal Like a Pro

Use quality tape (minimum 1.5–2 in wide) and apply the H-tape method: one strip down the center, two on the edges. Bigger boxes = more tape.

8. Test Before Scaling

Ship a small batch first. If everything arrives intact, you’re good to go. If not—adjust your approach.

9. Think Green

Eco-conscious packaging =smarter freight. Reuse boxes, minimize plastic, and optimize pallet layouts to ship more with less.
